SPONSOR FAQ's

Below is a list of commonly asked questions to familiarize yourself with the program. If this does not answer your questions, please feel free to contact Denise Weller at denise@vetsouse.org or Megan Cain at megan@vetspouse.org.
Can I sponsor on behalf of a GRouP, Business, Church or Community Organization?
Yes, absolutely. On the Form please used the name and contact information of the person representing your group.
Can I choose the amount of my donation?
Yes.
1. $175 Adopt a Caregiver  ($100 Grocery Card to help with holiday meal and a gift(s) $75.
2. $500 Adopt a Veteran Family ($100-150 grocery card for holiday meal and $350-400 gifts for the family)
*NOTE
You will be paired directly with the veteran caregiver and shopping, wrapping and shipping or delivering the gifts to the Veteran Caregiver
3. Can I contribute at a lesser amount? Yes. Make a donation of any amount by using the donation form to help support a veteran caregiver and/or family. All funds donated directly to Hearts of Patriots in support of our Adopt a Veteran for the Holidays program. Your donation will be combined with other generous donors and Hearts of Patriots will adopt veteran families on your behalf. You will receive information and photos of families that you helped for this holiday season.
Will I know anything about the Caregiver and family that I adopt?
Yes! Once we have paired you with a Caregiver, we will send you information and if possible photos.  Following the Holidays, Hearts of Patriots will send a follow up to you including messages and holiday photos of the veteran's family you were paired with.
Can I specifiy the location of the caregiver?
Most Lorain County Sponsors will be paired with a local Veteran family. A large number of caregivers apply from across the US. You can request a Caregiver from your region but we cannot guarantee that we will be able to pair you with a Caregiver in your community.
how are the veteran caregivers SCREENed?
Caregivers are screened for participation in our Adopt a Caregiver for the Holidays program. Proof of service and disability are validated before a caregiver becomes eligible for adoption.
