and their home had inexplicably become a battlefield.  The situation seemed hopeless and Megan found herself feeling angry and despondent.  One day, there was an incident that made her fear someone might take away her children.  In total desperation, she reached out for support and was referred to Tim DeWolf from the Ghost Rider Foundation. In less than one hour Tim and a fellow Marine who had deployed with Jeremy arrived at their home. That was the day everything began to change.

After that Megan met other spouses whose husbands suffer from TBI and PTS and learned that Jeremy's behavior was symptomatic of the PTS and the brain damage that resulted from the 3 IED explosions he had survived. Learning this, she understood for the first time that his was something Jeremy had no control over, and it changed everything for her. At the same time, Jeremy and Megan decided that together, they would do the work necessary to take back their lives. Sadly, Megan struggled for nearly 10 years before finally finding the help and education that would enable her to understand Jeremy's symptoms and learn how to "manage" his condition.
