Salute the Efforts of Our Hidden Heroes
As a Volunteer, Fundraiser or Donor

Volunteers are critical to the mission of Hearts of Patriots. Whether you participate in our Caring for Caregivers program, make a financial or in-kind donation, host a fundraiser or Adopt a Caregiver for the holidays, your contribution impacts the lives of our hidden heroes and their families. Please know that you are the heart of our organization.

Become a Caring for Caregivers Five-star Volunteer

Sometimes, all it takes is being seen.
That's why Hearts of Patriots' pairs five-star volunteers with caregivers for a year of correspondence and community that can develop into a permanent bond. Establish a personal connection with one of our amazing caregivers by offering encouraging thoughts and validation with personalized greeting cards, handwritten notes, emails or texts and small gestures of appreciation for one year.

As a five-star volunteer, know that your ongoing contact validates the daily sacrifices caregivers make for their veterans and their families. Something as simple as a card, email or personal holiday greeting can make a world of difference in the life of someone caring for a loved one with PTSD or a Traumatic Brain Injury.

This pen pal-style program is a great opportunity for Girl Scout and Boy Scout troops, VFW Post Auxiliaries, someone looking for a meaningful service project or anyone who cares about our country to make a real difference for our hidden heroes. We ask that you correspond with your assigned caregiver throughout the year (six- to twelve times or more) with hand written letters/note cards, a text or email, personalized greeting cards birthday  and holiday wishes, or even individual Random Act of Caring.
